The Joker

Costumes: Arkham City (not the sick version), Batman: The Animated Series, Vacation Joker (from the Killing Joke)

Intro Quotes and Animations:

* Jumps around and claps and says "Hehehe! Keep sending these guys in! I'm having a blast!"

* Cracks knuckles and says "Come on, guys! I'll help you turn those frowns upside down..."

* Puts hands behind back, begins pacing, and says "Killing pathetic henchman after pathetic henchman... What could be better!?"

* Grabs stomach and laughs, then says "I don't fight fair! Just thought I'd warn ya..."

* Dances around and says "You've gotta be stupid if you wanna tangle with me!"

Overall Playstyle: Joker plays similarly to how he did in Batman: Arkham Asylum. He is faster than Batman, but would not be as fast as Catwoman is. His punches do not hit that hard, but he is able to jump around the battlefield with ease to hit as many enemies as possible. His pistol gadget acts as an automatic one-shot kill when it connects, but only has one bullet (one per round if in a combat map). Also, Joker has no grappling weapon, so he cannot grapple to vantage points, so he must take out enemies on the ground. However, he is now able to use the electrical machines found in some maps with his new joybuzzer gadget, though he must be relatively close to it. Joker cannot take as much fire as Batman, and has health that is about the same as Catwoman's.

Special Vision: All characters will have their own version of Detective Mode. Joker's is known simply as Joker Vision. It is swirly yellow and red, and is activated by Joker putting on a pair of swirly glasses. Instead of being counted as a gadget and being unable to move while using it like in Arkham Asylum, this time, Joker can move around and it is activated by pressing L2 or LT. Enemies who are armed and unarmed are distinguished using different colors, unarmed being blue, and armed being red.

Gadgets:

* Playing Cards - A deck of razor-sharp cards used as projectiles, these operate similar to Batman's batarangs, Catwoman's bolas, Nightwing's wing-dings, and Robin's shuriken. The quickfire playing card acts the same as quickfire batarang, and is even operated with the same button (L1 or LB). Some of the cards also have special images. The king is replaced by a picture of the Joker wearing a purple robe and a crown too big for his head, the queen is replaced by Harley wearing a red and black dress and a tiara, the jack is replaced by Mr. Hammer (one of the Abromovici Twins) wearing a hat, the ace is the same shape, but it is red and bloody, and the joker is replaced by a picture of Batman dancing with pale white skin and a Joker-like smile.

* Pistol - Joker's usual pistol. Only has one bullet during stealth maps, and one bullet per round during combat maps. A shot from this weapon acts as a one-hit takedown if aimed correctly. The quickfire gadget version is automatically aimed at the nearest enemy, so aiming is not required. However, this weapon will not automatically defeat either of the Abramovici Twins (though it will deplete most of their health), or Titan-enhanced enemies, and members of the League of Assassins will dodge it.

* Joker Teeth - The explosive chattering teeth return as a gadget from Arkham Asylum. They are remote-controlled, and explode on command to take out explosive walls, or even kill enemies quickly. However, enemies can notice these if the player brings them too close without detonating them, and will shoot and destroy them. The quickfire version of this gadget is not remote-controlled, and will move itself to the nearest enemy and self-destruct.

* Joy Buzzer - A joy buzzer located on Joker's right hand that can administer a lethal dose of electricity, Joker can use this on both enemies and the assorted electrically powered machines. When used on enemies, Joker will grab them, and force them to grab his hand. If this is done to completion, the enemy will be killed. However, doing this causes the enemy to scream, and will attract attention. Other enemies will shoot at Joker to stop him from killing their ally. When used on machines, Joker will touch the machine, causing it to generate an electrical current that has the same effect as when Batman does it. The quickfire version of this gadget takes slightly less time, and if interrupted by having to perform a counter, leaves the enemy stunned for Joker to finish them off.

* Acid Flower - The flower located on Joker's chest also acts as a deadly, and useful, gadget. This acts as a medium-range spray of acid from Joker's chest to whatever the player is aiming at. This will not kill enemies, but rather knock them down for Joker to perform a ground takedown on. However, if Joker leaves them while they are down as opposed to killing them, they will get up and say either "Ah! That burns! I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch clown..." or "Goddammit! My skin's burning! I'll find that bastard..." The quickfire version has the same effect, knocking enemies down. Spraying on one of the Abramovici Twins will cause them to spin around and flail their weapons, hitting any nearby enemies, like what Batman's remote electrical charge does.

* Joker Bomb - A bomb that releases green gas, this is not as much of an offensive weapon as a defensive one. This operates just like Batman's smoke pellets, creating a cloud of gas in order to distract and escape from armed foes. However, using this nearby to a thug causes them to laugh and cough violently, effectively stunning them.

Slide Animation: Bends backward while he slides on knees

Dive Animation: Dives forward and rolls on the ground. If diving over an enemy, Joker jumps over their shoulders and pushes them away.

Stun Animation and Beatdown: Lets out a stream of Joker gas from inside sleeve. For a beatdown, Joker rapidly slaps the opponent until they're taken down. For super stun, Joker spreads the gas in three different directions.

Knife Dodge and Knife Dodge Takedown: Puts one hand on top of head while dodging knife attacks, then grabs the knife from enemy and slices it across their face for the takedown.

Counters:

* One enemy, punching - Grabs enemy's arm, then kicks them in the stomach to knock them back

* One enemy, punching - Ducks under opponent's punch, then punches them in the balls

* One enemy, punching - Dodges enemy's punch, then slaps them in the face three times, knocking them down

* One enemy, punching from behind - Spins around and punches them in the face

* One enemy, kicking - Grabs thug's leg, then flips them over

* One enemy, kicking from behind: Blocks kicks with the back of his leg, then elbows them

* One enemy, with a blunt weapon - Knocks weapon from thug's hand, then headbutts them

* One enemy, with a blunt weapon - Grabs weapon from henchman, kicks them to the ground, and hits them in the stomach with it

* One enemy, from the League of Assassins - Grabs sword in between his hands, then moves his arms to slam the hilt into her head

* Two enemies, both in front - Kicks one in the groin while blocking the other punch, then pokes the blocked thug in the eyes

* Two enemies, both in front - Leaps over enemies, grabbing them by their heads and forcing them to the ground

* Two enemies, one in front, one behind - Deflects both fists, grabs one thug, and spins him around to hit the other

* Two enemies, one in front, one behind - Kicks enemy that is in front on him in stomach, then elbows the second thug in face

* Three enemies, in a triangle - Jumps up, grabs two enemies in front by the face, then wraps his feet around the third henchman's neck, knocking the two heads together and making the third fall down

* Three enemies, in a triangle - Joker puts out his arms and spins around in a circle, hitting all three enemies

Special Combo Takedowns:

* Grabs enemy, begins to do a slow dance with them, but then slams their head into the floor, taking them down

* Grabs thug's head, flips them over so they're laying on the ground, and snaps their neck

* Dives around thug, kicks them to their knees, and then slams them into the floor

* When enemy has a stun baton, Joker grabs the baton and shocks them in the face

* When enemy has a shield, Joker rips the shield from them, and slams it into their head repeatedly

Ground Takedowns:

* Stands by the opponent and kicks them in the face

* Kneels down and headbutts the downed opponent

* Kneels down and lets some Joker gad come out of his sleeve, and the opponent laughs as they die

* When far away, Joker jumps over and hits down with both of his fists

* When far away, Joker jumps over and elbows downward

Grate Takedown: While hiding in the floor grates, Joker will jump up, grab the thug, then make them fall face first into the floor.

Ledge Takedown: Grabs opponent, hits their face into the railing (if there is any), and then lets them fall to the ground.

Double Ledge Takedown: Grabs both enemies, and sends them both over the edge.

Weak Wall Takedown: When behind a weak wooden wall with an enemy on the other side, Joker can take them out by slamming his entire body against the wall, breaking it, and then grabbing the thug to slam his face into a wall.

Reverse Ledge Takedown: While standing on the railing, with an enemy underneath him, Joker can hang from the side and wrap his legs around the thug's neck, and then snap it.

Window Takedown: Shatters the window with his elbow, then grabs the opponent and shoves their head into the shattered glass

Glass Ceiling Takedown: Smashes the glass underneath him, lands on the enemy's shoulders, and slams them into the floor

Abromovici Twin Takedown: After beating one of the Abromovici Twins, Joker will repeatedly punch them in the face, and then kick them, sending them falling over to the ground

Titan Thug Takedown: After beating a Titan Thug, Joker jumps onto their head, and punches them on the top of their head over and over until they fall down

Silent Takedowns:

* Grabs opponent's neck, while covering their mouth with his hands, and snaps their neck. When doing a knockout smash, Joker snaps their neck quicker than before, actually making a loud noise.

* Covers enemy's mouth, turns them around to face him, does a "Shhhh" motion, then stabs them with a knife taken from inside his jacket. When doing a knockout smash, Joker slams the enemy's head into the ground.

* Covers thug's mouth with one hand, while pinching their nose with the other, causing them to suffocate. When doing a knockout smahs

Double Silent Takedown: Grabs the two enemies, and slams their heads together.

Pounce Attack: From a higher point, jumps out really far to land on an enemy and knock them down.

Drop Attack: From a higher point, simply drops down on top of an enemy, knocking them down.

Riddler Announcement: When on a stealth mission, these are some Joker-specific quotes said to his henchmen:

* "It appears that we have a very special guest, the Joker. I know how much you guys love him, so why don't you give him a warm welcome?" in the beginning, before anyone is taken out

* "The clown's killed one of you ignoramuses! Find him, and kill him FOR GOOD!" after someone is taken out

* "Congratulations, Joker. You've managed to add one more to your bodycount. Now LEAVE! ME! ALONE!" after someone is taken out

Combat Map Thug Quotes: These are Joker-specific battle quotes from the thugs in Combat maps:

* "Come on, clown! This'll make me laugh!"

* "You think you're funny? Well, this ain't a joke!"

* "Wanna know how you're gonna get some scars?"

* "Aren't you supposed to be sick?!"

* "We're gonna shatter that smile of yours!"

* "After you're dead, we're coming for Harley!"

Stealth Map Thug Quotes: These are Joker-specific quotes from the thugs in stealth maps, and some of these depend on if the thugs are calm, nervous, or terrified, which depends on how many guys have been beaten. TYGER guards have different quotes, but don't say anything special when nervous, and never get terrified:

* "I know we're secretly workin' for Riddler, but ain't we supposed to be working for Joker too?" calm, and only if they are Joker henchmen

* "I worked for the Joker back when he took over the Asylum. I know for a fact we can't let our guard down..." calm

* "This clown won't be smiling for long..." calm

* "Don't worry, guys. We can take this psycho..." nervous

* "We'll show that son of a bitch what we think is funny..." nervous

* "He may have gotten him/those guys, but we'll get the last laugh!" nervous

* "Come on, Joker! Face me like a man, and you won't be smiling for long!" terrified

* "Oh, God... Riddler! Don't let us die down here! Please!!!" terrified

* "Joker! Why are you doing this?! This ain't funny!" terrified

* "All units, prisoner Joker is in the facility! Proceed with extreme caution!" calm, when the enemies are TYGER guards

* "All units, target is the Joker. I repeat: the target is the Joker!" calm, when the enemies are TYGER guards
My name is LookItsJarvis, and I'm addicted to Batman: Arkham City.

"Hi, LookItsJarvis..."

Yeah, I'm obsessed with this game. And I love the Challenge Mode. Out of the characters I have (Batman, Catwoman, and Nightwing), Nightwing is definitely my favorite and I'm glad I downloaded him. I can't wait for Robin to come out so I can play as him too. But I've also been thinking of other characters in the Batman mythos, and the larger DC Universe, and how they'd play in this. So, I present, an updated version of the Joker! Similar to his Arkham Asylum playstyle, but new and improved!

I'll be doing something like this every once in a while, and next time, I think I'll be trying out the Cassandra Cain version of Batgirl! And after her, I have a few surprises, trust me... :)

Well, that looks like it'd be much more fun than it was being him in the first one. But what about the Carnival & Iceberg Lounge announcements? (The first one could be Harley telling the thugs Joker wants to smack them around for a warm-up fight)
